Two cheques, each for €3625 were presented to our designated charities at a short ceremony in the College. Youthwork Ireland Galway and Galway River Patrol representatives were both on hand to accept their donations and were both delighted with the generosity and effort of our students and staff on behalf of these worthy causes. Mikey Kerin was the lucky winner of the signed Connacht Jersey offered to those who had collected over €100 for the cause.
It was great to have Connacht Rugby player and former Mary’s student Ronan Loughney in the College to help formally launch this year’s Christmas Charity Drive. Over the past 13 years students and staff from the College have raised over €217 000 fro various Local, National and Intentional charities, helping thousands of people along the way.
This year we will be focusing on mental health with Galway Waterways Patrol, and Youth Counselling Service Galway being the chosen beneficiaries. Mary’s students will be embarking on a series of fund raising activities over the next couple of weeks and we urge you to give them your support in this important endeavour
