As part of our on-going efforts to promote Gaelic Football in Galway and it’s environs we orgainised and hosted a successful U-11 Blitz on the grounds of the College in April 2014. This was a hugely successful day, and hopefully was enjoyed by all the kids present and their families. A big thanks is due to Mary’s old boys and current Galway senior football panelists Gareth Bradshaw, Seán Armstrong, David O’Connell, Conor Costello and Paul Conroy for coming along to sign autographs and help out on the day.
St. Mary’s College remains the only city school competing in the A division of Connacht Schools football, and still remain historically the most successful. We have fantastic facilities, and abundant coaches with the knowledge and experience to forward the game. The number of current and past Galway Senior players, including team captain Paul Conroy, bear testament to the work we try to do with Gaelic Football in the College.
Winners on the Day were St. James’s Renmore/Mervue, well done lads
Featured here are photographs taken on the day, there are a lot, so you’ll probably find yourself or someone you know in them!
