Built on elevated ground with commanding views over the city of Galway and set amidst the famed scenic beauty of Galway bay, the Burren and Connemara, St. Mary’s College is the diocesan college of Galway, Kilmacdua and Kilfenora. We cater for boys aged 12 to 18 years.
Through our excellent academic programme and emphasis on participation in sport and other leisure pursuits such as drama and debating, St. Mary’s College aims at providing the fullest and best opportunity for harmonious growth of each student in his intellectual, physical and aesthetic development. By providing an extensive range of sporting, leisure and cultural activities, St. Mary’s College encourages participation as a positive experience in each pupil’s personal development.
St. Mary’s College strives to foster charity, co-operation and consideration for others amongst its students and to inculcate a spirit of responsibility and self-discipline.
Students are encouraged to be proud of the achievements and traditions of their Alma Mater so that in later life, when they take their place in society, they will be well equipped to make their own distinctive and meaningful contribution and at the same time to continue the lifelong learning process.
The high standards evident in all respects of school life are thanks to the generosity, professionalism and dedication of staff coupled with the energy, talent and commitment of students.
St Mary’s values the support of our parents and in particular the members of the Parents Council. Táim fíor bhuíoch daoibh ar fad.
